Note:

  • This is a dummy message (Füllfunkspruch), sent to keep up a steady level of radio traffic in order to deceive the Allies’ traffic analysts. Such messages would begin with a meaningless string of two or three words. This would be followed by any one of a number of phrases indicating that the message was a dummy, such as “ohne Sinn,” “hat keinen Sinn,” “dient zur Taeuschung,” etc.; after which the signature of the originating station was sometimes added. The remainder of the message would then be filled up with a random string of consonants.
